“Nearly Broken” by Devon Ashley

Wow.  This book really took a lot out of me, emotionally.  The story itself was riveting and full of nice touches by the author that you almost missed if you weren’t paying attention.

Nick was the perfect hero.  When readers talk about “book boyfriends”, Nick it the epitome of what a bb should be.  Strong, kind, unwavering and faulted.  His love for Megan is the driving force behind this book.  I couldn’t ask for a better character.  Megan was flawed, scarred and nearly broken.  After the trauma that she went through, I could understand her fears and sympathize with her situation.  I was rooting for this team from the first moment that they met.

The story has a lot of hard issues and is not for the faint of heart.  It definitely takes the reader on a journey that is horrible and terrifying and full of emotions.  At times, i wanted to cry for these characters and then I wanted to rejoice for them.  Read this book at your own risk!
